The Department of Agricultural and Forestry Engineering of the University of Valladolid, Campus Palencia, welcomed eight students from the Technical University of Moldova as part of the ERASMUS+ academic mobility program. These students were officially welcomed by the Vicerrector of Palencia Campus Julio Díez Casero, during a formal ceremony to mark the beginning of their 28-day mobility period, which will take place from September 3rd to October 1st, 2024.

This mobility exchange is being carried out within the framework of the international UniClaD project, which aims to «enhance the capacity of universities to initiate and participate in the development of clusters based on innovation and continuity». UniClaD is an Erasmus+ KA2-funded initiative that connects universities in partner countries to develop agro-industrial clusters focused on innovation and sustainability.
Over the course of the UniClaD project, students from the partner countries of Azerbaijan, Moldova and Ukraine have participated in mobility programs between April and September 2024, spending time at universities in Austria, Hungary, Italy, Lithuania, Poland and Spain. The program has been tailored to cover transversal knowledge for undergraduate and graduate students. During their stay at the University of Valladolid, the Moldovan students will be immersed in a robust academic program, benefiting from seminars and practical classes with lecturers, experts and instructors.

The learning experience offers students a unique opportunity to deepen their knowledge in critical areas such as Life Cycle Analysis, Evidence Synthesis – Systematic Reviews, Precision Agriculture and Urban Agriculture, and Food Governance. Moreover, the exchange aims to provide valuable first-hand insights into the European higher education system, particularly in the fields of agribusiness and technology. Expand their professional networks and foster new international relationships. Improve their English language skills, gain insight into Spanish history and culture.
